UitZicht
Theme for the exhibition UitZicht, which took place in 18 shop windows in the ‘Staatsliedenbuurt’ in Amsterdam, is the hidden gardens behind the houses in the neighbourhood. The artist’s works were based on stories of the inhabitants about the gardens. Starting point for my work were complaints as garbage in the garden, too much weed etc. I decided to start an inspection team, and designed special uniforms for it. Uniforms have a practical function, but are also meant to indicate that the people in uniform belong to one organization with a specific purpose.
