Although a lot of the inhabitants of the ‘nursing home’ Tabitha used to live in this area, Tabitha remains an island in this neighbourhood and the city. In the exhibition BUURTEN, organized by Matthijs Muller and Guda Koster, a bridge is built between Art, the old peoples home and the surrounding neighbourhood. The inhabitants of Tabitha cooperated in the realization of BUURTEN as well.

Guda Kosters work ‘EIGEN HUIS’ (a home of your own) is a monument for independence and the ability to look after yourself. Once people move into an  nursing home they lose all that, and their children lose a sort of ‘home base’ as well. The work is a scale model in textiles of Guda Kosters parental home.
