What is the ideal man? What is our current image of him? What do men themselves want to be? Is there a new man coming?
The ideal man project started as artist Anja Sijben's personal search. In january 2011, the project expanded in collaboration between ten international artists and scientists. Three weeks they discussed and worked in the artist in residence place ArToll in Germany.

In many fairy tales you can find the theme of the wild man. Research shows that the man has developed his female side but has underestimated his manly side. To become one, the ideal man has to search for the wild man in himself.
